Takeru Kobayashi of Japan, a former hot dog eating champion, was arrested after he jumped on stage at the Famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and wrestled with police as a rival Joey Chestnut was being presented with the winner’s “mustard belt” for the fourth year running. The event drew between 40,000 and 50,000 spectators.
Mr Chestnut, from California, had won by eating 54 hot dogs in 10 minutes but had never had to compete against Mr Kobayashi, the sixth time champion, because the latter was involved in a contract dispute with the event’s organizers. Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have filed restraining orders against one another, two months after a seemingly amicable split after more than a year of dating.
Oksana Grigorieva reportedly won a domestic violence restraining order in Los Angeles against Gibson at the beginning of the week. Grigorieva alleged Gibson had been violent towards her, the alleged incidents that were not physical but still constituted domestic violence occurred in January. Julia Gillard (48) is the first female prime minister in Australia’s history. Gillard became the Leader of the Australian Labor Party at the 2010 Australian Labor Party leadership election on 24 June 2010 and was sworn in as prime minister later that day. She had previously served as Deputy Prime Minister of Australia under Kevin Rudd. Gillard has been a Labor Party member of the House of Representatives since the 1998 federal election. Gail Posner dog, Chihuahua named Conchita is the most spoiled dog in the world. Posner left a $3 million trust fund to Conchita, and two of her other pet dogs. Conchita was the favorite of the late Miami heiress Gail Posner, a daughter of Victor Posner, a master of the hostile takeover who became one of America’s highest-paid executives.
When Ms. Posner died in March at age 67, Conchita and two other dogs inherited the right to live in her seven-bedroom, $8.3 million Miami Beach mansion, their comfort ensured by a $3 million trust fund.
